About this silver data
The chart shows daily closing prices for silver (XAG) in GBP per troy ounce,
with 10-day, 30-day, 3-month, 6-month and 1-year views plus today-versus-yesterday. The dataset
auto-updates every day via a free scheduled job (scripts/update-prices.js), so the
numbers stay current with no manual maintenance.
Data source & accuracy
Prices are derived from Yahoo Finance silver futures (SI=F) converted to
pounds using the daily Frankfurter USD→GBP rate — end-of-day closes, not live intraday ticks. They're for context;
to value real items use the live silver calculator,
which shows both melt value and the realistic dealer payout. A swappable adapter in history.js lets
you point the charts at any other feed later.
