Gold Calculator UK is a free, independent tool covering gold, silver, platinum and palladium. It exists to close one gap: every other UK calculator shows only the theoretical melt value at spot price, which is not what a dealer will pay you.
What makes us different
We lead with the realistic payout — an adjustable percentage of melt with presets for pawnbrokers, jewellers, mail-in refiners and specialists — and visualise exactly what the dealer keeps. We add multi-item totals, live hallmark values, a CGT quick-check, full weight-unit support (including tola and pennyweight), and price history charts.
How we make money
Display advertising only (Google AdSense). We take no affiliate commissions, run no sponsored "we buy gold" placements, and never sell your data. The price-alert email is a convenience feature, not a revenue channel. That independence is the whole point — our incentive is to be useful, not to funnel you to a buyer.
Honesty first
Every figure on this site is an estimate of melt value, never an offer. The Advertising Standards Authority has ruled against calculators that implied their numbers were real offers; we're built to the opposite standard. Read our disclaimer and privacy policy.
